In short: the public health system (SNS) expands free dental care for children aged 0 to 14 (check-ups, fluoride, sealants, cleaning and fillings for caries or trauma); access depends on your region (comunidad autónoma).
Order SND/606/2024 expands the common portfolio of oral-health services (amending RD 1030/2006), prioritising children and young people, pregnant women, people with disabilities and head-and-neck oncology patients.
For minors (up to 14) it includes: periodic check-up with X-ray; application of remineralising/antiseptic substances (fluoride); pit-and-fissure sealants; scaling (cleaning); fillings for caries or trauma; and treatment of dental trauma.
Who is entitled: people with SNS coverage (the rule does not exclude by nationality → it includes foreigners with a health card, e.g. Temporary Protection beneficiaries).
How to access: through the SNS oral-health units coordinated with primary care; management is up to each region, so details and timing may vary. In force since 19 June 2024, with a progressive rollout.
Unlike the Plan VEO glasses grant (an ad-hoc aid), this is part of the SNS common portfolio.
